At the December ECWBA club meeting we discussed use of Randy Oliver's varroa model to help you determine if your mite control strategy would yield acceptable results. For those who are not computer savvy (ie know how to run Excel) here is another approach. The Honey Bee Health Coalition has developed a decision tree with which by answering a few questions you can develop a mite control plan. Here is the link to the tool.
